Join Us to Build the Anti-War Movement! We'll be in front of the Brooklyn Public Library by Grand Army Plaza, on Saturdays in September (starting Sept 10) & October from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
With the incorporation of traditionally neutral Finland and Sweden into NATO, the increased encirclement of Russia ensures that the war in Ukraine will be a long, protracted and brutal one, drawing in more countries in Europe and possibly the US in open conflict. The threat of a nuclear war is high. The antiwar movement needs to be urgently mobilized here in the US, in Europe, and worldwide.
We'll be holding a banner and signs, and distributing flyers, urging a cease-fire and serious negotiations to end this war, which is killing thousands of people, displacing millions, and causing hunger, inflation, and increased militarism around the world.
>Brooklyn for Peace strongly condemns Russia's invasion of Ukraine (see our statement here).
However, we also believe the priority of the U.S. at this time should be the encouragement of a cease-fire and energetic diplomacy, designed to create long-term peace.
