War is horrible. Especially because it rarely affects the political elite, but always the ordinary people in the country. They suffer from the aggression and violence of their rulers. It is appalling that there is now another war in Europe as Russia launches an unprecedented brutal attack on Ukraine. Putin unilaterally opts for a military attack, a gross violation of international law. The reports of victims and refugees are increasing.
The effort should now focus on de-escalation and a ceasefire. The so-called Minsk agreements, which contain a diplomatic solution to this conflict, should be implemented by both sides. Putin must be dealt with by effective sanctions, including the super-rich cabal around him. We must work on a political solution.
We therefore say: Stop the war!
